Millennium Chambers is pleased to report a successful outcome secured by Jabeen following a jury trial involving an allegation of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The prosecution alleged that the defendant deliberately drove towards a pedestrian, resulting in a collision that caused serious injuries. CCTV footage formed a central part of the Crown’s case.

During the trial, the defence conducted a detailed, second-by-second analysis of the CCTV evidence, demonstrating that the incident did not amount to dangerous driving but rather a momentary lapse in judgement.

Following the conclusion of evidence, the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty on the charge of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The defendant was convicted of a lesser offence and was sentenced to a community order of 100 hours.

This case highlights the importance of careful analysis of visual evidence and the role of the jury in distinguishing between serious criminal conduct and errors of judgement.
