Justin is a seasoned criminal defence practitioner. With almost 40 years of experience, he specialises in defending heavyweight criminal cases, especially violent crime, historic sexual assaults, sexual offending and Military matters. He has a proven track record of successfully defending in Crown Courts across England and Wales.

As a criminal barrister, he specialises in cases that require expert advocacy skills. He has experience in drug trafficking, violent crime, and fraud – successfully defending clients. He is a skilled jury advocate and a formidable opponent.

Justin’s case experience includes multi-million-pound frauds, very large drug importations, murders, rapes, serious sexual assaults against adults and children, historic sexual assaults, and other offences involving violence, mainly where fatalities occur.

His approach to his work is both meticulous and clinical. Before being called to the Bar, Justin was a senior equity partner in a Legal 500 firm of solicitors and has practised as a criminal defence lawyer all his practising life. He has a very detailed understanding of how to run a case.

His practice covers all criminal courts across England and Wales, and he is regularly involved in defending high-profile cases.

Justin regularly acts as a leading junior in defence cases.

He was admitted as an Associate Writer to the Signet of Scotland and is still a member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland.

Justin was one of the first solicitor advocates appointed in England and Wales.

A former member of the Secretary of State’s standing committee for the review of military law appears for the defence in courts-martial wherever UK troops are stationed.

A liveryman of a City of London Livery Company and a former member of one of the Sovereign Warranted Ceremonial Bodyguards, he lives on the Boarders of North Wales and, when not working, spends his time with his horses and his spaniels.

When not based in London, Justin lives on the North Wales Borders and can easily reach Courts in the Northeast and West.
