Anti-Racist Statement
Millennium Chambers has a zero-tolerance approach to racism and condemns all racist and discriminatory behaviour. We are committed to challenging and dismantling structural racism within our practice, policies, and procedures by taking positive and active steps to ensure we deal with any racism within our company.
We are committed to creating a work environment in which every member of Chambers -barristers and staff, can work without discrimination and prejudice. We will not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of background, age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation within our workplace.
We have a personal duty to comply and uphold the rules as specified by the Bar Standards Board.
Millennium Chambers pledge to the following
- Engaging and educating ourselves through anti-racist training.
- Completing Race Equality Audits.
- Design and implement positive action measures to include improving our recruitment process to attract talent in our profession from all backgrounds regardless of background, age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation. To regularly review all employment procedures to ensure that no staff are treated differently to others.
- Produce and publish an anti-racist statement for members of Chambers and the public.
Our Head of Chambers, Equality and Diversity officer and senior members of Chambers will lead these practises to ensure we are fully compliant.
