Millennium Chambers is pleased to report a successful outcome secured by Jabeen Akhtar, who represented a defendant in a substantial drug conspiracy trial, culminating in a unanimous acquittal.

The case concerned allegations of involvement in a large-scale conspiracy to supply cocaine. The prosecution asserted that the defendant, a taxi driver, was associated with an individual said to be operating as a significant drug dealer. It was alleged that the defendant was present during the transfer of approximately two kilograms of cocaine, which was said to have taken place in a public car park.

The prosecution further contended that the defendant played an active role within the group and was described as closely connected to the principal suspect. The case involved extensive evidential material, including surveillance observations, CCTV footage, and a significant volume of telephone evidence.

Following a trial lasting ten weeks, the jury returned unanimous not guilty verdicts.

Jabeen Akhtar appeared on behalf of the defendant, instructed in the matter throughout the proceedings.
